Our Pre-K program is completely different than any other class at His Kids. These classes are kindergarten preparatory, our pre-k teachers strive to prepare your child for not only a successful kindergarten year but also a lifetime love of learning. While many of the same concepts taught in our three year old program are covered, this class provides children with the opportunity to fine-tune his/her skills for kindergarten readiness.

Concepts are taught through art and music, as well as many hands on activities and interactive games.

Phonics/literacy development- Here children will learn to write and recognize letters A-Z, both capital and lower case, as well as their sounds. Children will learn to read blends as well as one and two vowel words. Mid-Year children work in small reading groups practicing their skills together and independently. Language development is taught through story time and an introduction to the world around us.

Writing- Children will learn not only to write each letter of the alphabet, but also how to write and spell their name.

Early Math skills- Children learn to recognize 1-20, and count to 100 number concepts, patterns and sequencing. Early understanding of place value and the concepts of addition and subtraction are taught.

Science is a hands on subject taught through the introduction of God’s creation in our surroundings.

Gross/Fine Motor skills are taught and strengthened through the use of scissors, grasping, running, jumping, and other skills.
